Have you ever wondered whether the St. James Retirement Hotel was either a hotel for the elderly or perhaps a retirement home with hotel like qualities? Well I have wondered this many a time and I finally solved my little mystery after talking with Melissa who is a carer there. It’s a retirement home that was once a hotel but was converted a few years ago – so I guess it’s closer to the latter. It has private care sections as well as share suites for the residents who must arguably have one of the best locations to retire to in the country
The day I spoke to Melissa she had taken three of the elderly ladies to St. James beach along with a couple of other carers to soak up the spring sunshine and take in the False Bay vista.
